Who to watch for goals in the Absa Premiership?

Fans love to see goals, and the most ‘watchable’ side in the Absa Premiership this season in terms of seeing the ball hit the back of the net might raise a few eyebrows.

It is not league leaders Kaizer Chiefs, the prolific Mamelodi Sundowns or the resurgent Orlando Pirates … the club that has seen the most goals scored in their games this season is in fact Bloemfontein Celtic.

Phunya Sele Sele have seen an impressive 66 goals netted in their 23 games, with the split even as they have scored 33 and conceded the same number.

The club is currently ninth in the table, and have a symmetrical record between their scoring exploits home and away.

They have netted 21 goals and conceded 12 at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein, while away it is the complete opposite, they have scored 12 and conceded 21.

Cape Town City are second of the list of most goals in their games, 62, having netted 30 and conceded 32, while Pirates (35-26) are third.

Chiefs have had 57 goals (40-17) in their games, and Sundowns just 45 (30-15), though that has more to do with their stout defence.
